Dear Friends of the Traders Point
Hunt Charity Horse Show and Country Fair
 
We are excited to bring many new things to our show this year. First, we are pleased to have Riley Children’s Foundation of Indianapolis as our charity. Riley Hospital for Children has been providing comprehensive care for children since opening in 1924. One of the nation’s top centers for pediatric research and care, Riley Hospital is dedicated to the critical care needs of children. We are also grateful to our friends at Budweiser for the $60,000 Budweiser Grand Prix of Indianapolis on Sunday, August 17th.

My committee has been working diligently to ensure that this show is the best ever! Our hospitality committee will be anxiously waiting to greet all the exhibitors. They have treats for everyone - coffee and doughnuts in the morning, water and ice tea during the day, horse carrots and doggie snacks as well! Exhibitors, please feel free to enjoy riding cross-country on the 250 acres of trails and around Lake Elizabeth and Indian Lake.

I want to give my heartfelt thanks to Penny and Jock Fortune for funding the Russell Fortune, Jr. $25,000 Memorial Grand Prix again this year, to be held Friday August 15th at 5:00 pm. Complimentary cocktails and supper will be served to the exhibitors, corporate sponsors, and patrons at the Grand Prix Field, followed by a party at the Country Fair area. A horse show of this size takes a tremendous amount of effort and I would like to thank all the board members, committee chairmen, volunteers and our show manager, Allen Rheinheimer.

The exhibitors luncheon will be on Wednesday, August 13th at noon. I am most grateful for the sponsorship of the luncheon by the family of Thomas K. Atkins. The Garden Party luncheon is on Thursday, August 14th. For reservations, please call Joan Voyles at (317) 873-5983. Additionally, we will offer Children’s Day on Saturday, August 16th at the Country Fair. We will have pony rides, a petting zoo, face painting and the 3rd Annual Peter V. Hall Terrier Races.

Our wonderful “Country Fair” always enhances the Traders Point experience. We are expanding the number of shopping options for you this year. We hope you will take time between classes to browse and enjoy the food court. Don’t forget to stop by the silent auction tent to bid on many wonderful items. This is an opportunity to get great merchandise that will directly benefit the children of Riley Hospital.
